Cinderella Castle

The truth about one of the fairest places of the fairytales

Have you ever noticed the castles in Cinderela’s  and in the Sleeping Beauty’s cartoons?
The most amazing about them is that there is a castle that looks almost exactly the same in real life.
It’s called Neuschwanstein (it is pronounced “nóichivanstáin”) and it’s in Germany, near the Austrian border.
It was the Neuschwanstein’s design that inspired the creators of Cinderela’s and the Sleeping Beauty’s scenarios, both in their drawings and in the replicas in Disney’s theme parks.

The Mad King’s Idea
The history of the actual castle began in the XIX century. Ludwig II, The Mad King of Bavaria, decided to build a magnificent castle in the middle of a forest.
The king’s intention was to create a haven where he could imagine any other thing. The works started in 1869 but, although magnificent, they were never concluded.

No Chapel
Because of the hard time to reach the place many modifications were made to the project during its execution, many of the chambers weren’t concluded.
To have a better idea, Ludwig II died in 1886 (a few months after moving into Neuschwanstein), the works in the castle went on for more eight years but, even though, areas such as a chapel in the castle’s courtyard never came out of the paper.

Elevator?
When it was built, Neuchswanstein had a series of equipment technologically advanced for its time such as heat systems and restrooms with flush and waste collecting systems. Ludwig II called his servants ringing an electrical bell and some of the chambers even had telephones! Another cool detail was an elevator that took the food to the table.

Fun Facts
Neuschwanstein castle was indicated as one of the 7 marvels of the world. It didn’t win the contest but it keeps attracting a lot of tourists.
There are three ways to get to the castle to a visit. On foot, in a 40 minutes hike . It’s also possible to get there on a horse cart or by bus.
Neuschwanstein means something alike “New Stone Swann”

Typhoon Lagoon

Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park (Lagoa do Tufão) is a wonderful water park that was inspired by the beaches of Hawaii. It represents a small village and according to Disney legend, it was the victim of a violent storm that reduced it to ruins. Surfboards were hurled into (thrown to/ arremessados, lançados) palm trees and boats were tossed around (thrown up and down by very rough waves/ jogados de cá para lá,) like toys. In the center of the park there is Mount Mayday where  Miss Tilly, an old fishing boat,  is aground(encalhado). Surrounding the mountain, a tropical paradise was formed —full of waterways(canais), rivers, rapids (corredeiras) and slides.
Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon is the biggest water park of the world. One of its best attractions is Shark Reef, where you can snorkel with real sharks and schools(cardume de peixes) of colorful fish. It’s an adventure with sharks for big kids, teens and adults.
The park has hosted the show recorded for Hannah Montana DVD.

Hollywood Studios

The Disney-Hollywood Studios park is a collaboration of supremacy in Disney theme parks with the story of the movie studios Walt Disney.  Founded in 1989, it had earlier accused of copying the idea of the Universal parks, but even before the announcement of plans of Universal Florida, WDI (Walt Disney Imaginareering - The emagineers) were already working on the project.
Disney-Hollywood Park is fun for children, youth and adults who are interested in cinema. The idea is to celebrate the golden years of Hollywood, the decades of 1930 and 1940 and also show scenes from productions that have been made by the studio, beyond those that are under development.

In the same attraction you have a super view across the park along with a drop of thirteen floors. There is a new operating system that creates endless possibilities for making almost impossible to drop the possibility of a visitor to have a fall twice in the same point of attraction.

EPCOT

EPCOT – (1982) is the abbreviation for Esperimental   Phototype Community of Tomorrow (Protótipo de Comunidade Experimental do Amanhã) and in fact, it was the initial idea of Walt Disney for the Walt Disney World Resort.

Tradução do português para inglês

In this community of Disney dreams, nations live in perfect harmony and peace,  surviving from the miraculous technological development , and so  EPCOT would never be out-of-date ( ultrapassado) because it is always updated(pois é sempre atualizado). The community itself has never existed, despite the recent contract of Walt Disney Co.  to create a closed city, the town of Celebration.

The Epcot theme park icon, Spaceship Earth, looking like a giant golf ball rising high above the horizon, welcomes the visitors as they walk through the park's main entrance.
EPCOT worries about education and it is very well succeeded.

Epcot is divided in two parts:

FUTURE WORLD: with high-tech attractions where ideas become reality, and
WORLD SHOWCASE : this  has to do with  the nations of the world,  separated by a big lake, a World Showcase lagoon, where every night the show “ IllumiNations Reflections of Earth” (IluniNações: Reflexos da Terra)  happens with sounds, light and fireworks. The adults like this park mostly due to its shows, interesting attractions, nice restaurants and shops, which represent the culture and cuisine of these 11 countries:
  • Mexico
  • Norway
  • China
  • Germany
  • Italy
  • United States
  • Japan
  • Morocco
  • France
  • United Kingdom
  • Canada
There's also plenty of kid-centric  entertainment too  like Disney Character meeting, great locations and the Kidcot fun stops. At Kidcot stations, kids can create one-of-a-kind souvenirs themselves.

At Epcot theme park, creativity is encouraged, imagination is celebrated and countries are united. Be amazed, inspired, enlightened and entertained.
